	Thanks, Neal! Here's the XP-40 in its original form. Didn't last long like this, too much drag with the rear radiator. Wasn't long before the XP began to look like what we think of as the Flying Tiger Warhawk. Then it was off to the races!!

	I truly admire your dedication to and perfection of fillet installation, Alf. Some models one can get away without the fillets...as far as appearance...and others, they're almost a necessity. I think with a lot of us, when it comes to fillets, we turn tail and run...at least I do. You on the other hand, have a real lock on the subject. Great work...your XP-40 looks terrific! Neal

	Quote: alf, how many passes did it take to cover? Bob Two with a third to touch up any areas that looked thin. The spray is pretty strong so the distance was a good 18" or more. I think Tom's suggestion about painting over black is a good one. Had I done so, the effects of the first pass probably would have been more evident. If I do this again, I'll use a dark Esaki instead of the white that I used. I think the Krylon aluminum was much easier to apply than the airbrushed acrylic that I used on the P-38. Better coverage using fewer applications. One thing about the silver color...it shows every little imperfection in glaring detail!!

	Decided to try a Krylon metallic paint. I'm happy with the result. Here's the Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001QC6618/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o01_s00?... It's called 'Dull Aluminum' and seems to be halfway between a flat finish and something very shiny. Don't know if Krylon Crystal Clear will make it more shiny. I'll use an Aleen's matte overspray instead.

	As a note, some years ago, a friends J3 got damaged. I covered a new rudder and elevator. Used a pencil on the elevator to mark where the stitches went. On the rudder I used a Sharpie, Don't ask why. Well the Sharpie bled thru the dope and showed thru the yellow dope. I was beside my self. An "Old Timer" gave a portion of Black dope in a can and said "Paint the whole thing with this and then the Yellow." Guess what, It worked. Learning curve!
