Thanks for posting this! The Arrow and Javelin are possible future projects for me (I doubt my upcoming project will ever take to the air). I will also be perusing the plans on the Free Flight Archive, even though I'm not ready to build completely from scratch.
  

Building stick-and-tissue models is a hobby, not work.

HERE ARE SOME SUGGESTED KITS/PLANS FOR YOUR FIRST STICK AND TISSUE MODEL
It's best not to start with a scale model!!!
KITS:
Sports Models:
Guillows Lancer
Guillows Javelin
Guillows Arrow

If it must be scale (like a real aircraft) stick with a high wing aircraft like a Piper Cub, Cessna, Taylor Craft etc.

If you are going to build from plans and make your own kit by cutting out the parts from sheet balsa...you'll still want to start with a high wing or shoulder wing model and there are lots of plans to choose from.  Check out our FreeFlightArchives.com Plans Site: Click Here
