All finished flight shot. I think the lesson learned on this one, pretty much anything can be made into a tether flyer. In hindsight, she did turn out to be a bit heavy. It does take a fair amount of steam to keep her flying. The CG is further back than any other tether flyer I have done in the past. It does fly with a nose up attitude. I think this is because some of the weight needs to be aft over what little of wings there are. I think if I had to do over again, I would use 1/8" balsa, instead of the 1/8" ply, and cover both sides of the balsa with brown paper, for added strength. I did consider 1/4" foam board for the wings, but I didn't want this build to be all foam. The Locker 1000, happy flying Al.

I think that I saw some of those kits back in the 50's at the LHS. Neat looking then and still.

In loving memory of Al Locker. The Locker 1000. Hope you got a laugh out of this one Al. Need to wait for the decals and canopy to dry. Final flight pictures tomorrow.

Outstanding!!!!  Very unique shape and looks like you've got the CG sorted out.  She looks fantastic with the contrails in the background!  Watch out for Tom Corbett Space Cadet! Leading the Space Force!  May the force be with you! Cheesy Wink

The sun is out in full force, I couldn't resist. Took her out for a test flight. The canopy is not installed in the pictures. I no sooner started, and Space Force was called out on me. They moved in fast on me. I don't know if any posts will follow, I may be going away.

Outstanding!!!  I love the color combinations.  Did that come from the plans or your own creativity! Now I want to make some space ships!! Smiley

Those are all great old space ship plans.  Brings back memories of the old black and white space movies of the late 50s.   You can see the influence of the German V-2 in the Moon Rocket!  Thanks for sharing them.  I agree the Space liner has great potential!
