Opted for a clear canopy....  Now for the framing....

And...I think we have an airplane.

Or you could get a little artsy and paint it light blue like this A-37

Thanks, Mike...appreciate your view.  She certainly is....Wink

"Hey, I'm over here!"  Well...my Hun project has a new home...here in the "tether world," which is just north of Havre.  I'm wondering how I'm going to look to an outsider...like, "Who's that old man over there with a toy airplane on the end of his fishing pole?"  Grin Grin Grin

Thinking about painting that canopy plug white...probably need a little weight up front anyway.

Truly great work again. I admire your tissue cal work, always nice and crisp.

Thanks for the "flash."

Installed the "flying hardware" for tether operations.  Not too much faith in it's strength...of attachment, that is.  Come on, CA!

"Flash" installed...nothing left but the canopy.

Thanks, Andy! Smiley

Ok..."dielectric panels"...non-electrically conductive panels are located on top of the air intake, midway on top of the dorsal fuselage (behind the cockpit) and atop the tailfin leading edge...all with the purpose of aiding reception.  The nose dielectric is for the ranging radar, the tailfin dielectric is for a UHF antenna, and the dorsal fuselage dielectric is for "I-don't-know."  Sounds like a job for "Sharpie."  Now that we've got that cleared up...I think....  The dark panel above the air intake and behind the cockpit in the first photo are dielectrics.

Here's your favorite staff officer, Mike.  Wink  You can see the dielectric up on the tailfin...and the dorsal dielectric panel looks like it has been accessed.  The Hun is an F model (stretch cockpit).

Thanks, Mike...like that description, "crack-sealed tarmac."  Grin Smiley

Not much progress over the last day or so...what I need is a nice sharp graphic of that TAC shield superimposed over a lightning bolt....

I'm reading about various "dielectric" areas on the aircraft's fuselage and tailfin.  Is that for purposes of lightning arrestors?

That's looking very sharp Neal!  I'm in the subtle camp for panel lines.  One of my pet peeves with the plastic modeling world is that many models have deeply engraved panel lines, which some folks "enhance" with deep black washes to the point the skin looks like crack-sealed tarmac.  In the pictures you Hun strikes a nice balance - smooth and sleek with enough detail to please the eye.
