Glad to hear you were able to get out and give her a toss.  Sound like a very successful day! Smiley

Took the little Citabria out for some flying yesterday...very pleasant.  First effort resulted in a roll to port...not good.  So...following recommendation on the plan...made a small slice into the starboard wing trailing edge and "bent" a tad of up aileron.  That did the trick...no more roll.  Noticed rubber was not looking good in one spot...appearance of old bread...so with limited winds...managed a number of flights...best of which was about 35 seconds.  Only casualty of the session were both wing struts...1/32" and not that strong.  All in all...she flies in spite of myself! Certainly better "luck" than I had as a kid. Smiley

Cheers!

Very quick build.  Intent was to progress in whittling down my 'warehouse' of kits.  This one has been around for a long time...well, actually I haven't purchased a new kit in at least 25 years!  Hey...I've constructed at least 2/3 of my collection over the past 5 years...and still have 30 to go...literally!  Huh  Is this what hoarding is all about?

Well...I seldom use 1/32 sheet balsa, and this project is almost entirely of the stuff.  In the process I've already broken those wing struts three times...and I haven't even given it a toss yet! Shocked  I don't think this creation was meant to last long...like our nickel gliders and skeeters of old.

Had to give it a dusting of flat white...just to see those stickers...which I tried to keep to a minimum.  All in all, a simple project...inspiration for something else in the future.  Been thinking about a model of a model.  Bill Hannan was into that once upon a time.  Thinking about creating my old Piece of Cake in miniature...then having my 6'5" son hold it again for a photo-retake.  Cheesy Wink Smiley

She's a good looker!  I think that she'll be a fine flyer!  Thanks for sharing this build with us.  Peck Polymer is one of our good supporters of this great Free Flight hobby!

TaDaaaaaa  I recall building a few "profile jobs" when I was a kid doing CL...and always asked myself why I didn't just tack some formers onto the fuselage.  Cool

As can be seen...this is a very popular sub-category of this hobby...a bit like harkening back to my childhood.  Uncle used to get rid of me by giving me a dime and sending me off to the corner grocery/drugstore (remember those places...shopped with a basket on your arm)...a nickel for candy and the rest for...that tiny balsa wonder of an airplane. Cheesy

I believe I'm supposed to apply the stickers etc....but I'm so anxious to get to the flying aspect of it all..........

16.5"ws...exercise in using 1/32" balsa...very delicate.  Kit has a nice 6"dia. prop and very good rubber for the motor.
