Well! While waiting on the 2020 Winter Cookup results I have nothing better to do than apply all of my attention on the Spartan Fighter.

Started attaching the wings.

I used Mike Kelly's tip on the cabin windows and they turned out OK.

I had to use #20 printer paper to make the white stripes on the rudder.

Took a colored pencils to help the plan engine and attached it to the front block.

I spent a lot of time on the paper cowling trying to get it to fit around the fuselage. Many tries later I finally was able to use a glue stick to attach the tissue to the paper and glue it to the fuselage.

The (Cooper) was on my desk when I came back from doping the model.

Looks great Bob...we'll have to dock you for the tissue on the empennage.  Maybe we'll let it slide this time! Grin Cheesy Wink

I was covering the rudder and stab when I thought I did not take a bones shot.

Hi Bob - Checked Wings Pallete and only found a Spartan Executive used in Spain.

Check here: http://wp.scn.ru/en/ww15/o/1828/75/0#1

PS - Good to see you back and at the building board again.
Mike

The Comet box top shows it red.  It was basically an Executive model converted to a fighter and I believe it was used in the Spanish civil war.  It was used in several other countries.

Wikipedia has a little on the military versions of the Executive 7W versions: Click Here

I think most if not all of the civilian versions were left in the bare metal finish with various colors of the Spartan logo on the side of the fuselage and leading edges of the wing.  There's some pics on the net if you do a google search of the Spartan Executive 7W "Fighter"

Proof that I am building again.

Started the Spartan Fighter.

Does anyone know what color it was?

If you can't find your printed plan Outerzone has this one: click here

Our site Free Flight Archive: Click Here
Although the plans say she's 20" span not 16" span.
