I haven’t done a lot more on the Semiquaver but in the interests of keeping things ticking over I have done the next best thing.....I took more pictures .

The things I have done are; adding hard points on the wings for the interplane struts; sheeting and sanding the bottom of the nose and the top of the deck between the nose and the cockpit; the last bit as a seat for the pylon which supports the top wing.
Everything so far weighs a smidge under 7.5g. That doesn’t sound too bad if you say it quickly but when you realise I still have to make interplane struts, nose block and prop and wheels and undercarriage, then it all needs covering and finishing; I don’t think it’s going to be light  .

Thanks for the link Mike. I have used a couple of those methods before. I like the simplicity and speed of Toms method for smaller models, but when ribs get bigger and the amount of “short grain” at the front of the rib gets too much then I prefer the laminated sheet method that Mike Stuart documents on his ffscale site.

Here is where I got to before work got in the way. Upper wing is sanded. The ailerons are separated and ready to be hinged.

The lower wing is now sanded and the upper wing is on the board. A bit more complex as it has separate ailerons.
I have another two days to get as much done as I can and then it’s back to work.

Tim - Great progress and I'm in with everybody else on the great work especially the cockpit combing.

Thanks chaps. The cockpit coaming was the second attempt as the first didn’t work as planned. Very fiddly but I find it very satisfying when I get it done right.
Today I made the tail feathers so the plan can come off the board now and be turned over for the wings.

Very nice framing, Tim...especially like the effort you've put in around the cockpit coaming.  That can be a delicate process but certainly goes a long way toward a detailed appearance...that extra effort.

Another weekend, a little more progress on the Semiquaver. It now has all the top deck formers. These took a little longer as I didn’t really trust the plan shapes so I re-drew them. It often seems to happen with plans these days that get scanned, copied, copied again then scanned again etc etc. I will check the wings for the same reason.

After studying the plans there are a few deviations from the norm that I'm going to have to figure out when it comes to the nose of the fuselage.  I'm still studying!
