I've worked with "metallic" silver tissue such as silver Esaki.  The metallic tissue seems to have some sort of plastic coating.  I've found that this type of tissue can only be applied "wet" since once it is on the frame you have no access to the actual tissue to spritz it with water or alcohol to shrink it.  Lately, I have used white tissue and sprayed it with Design Master silver when I want to model a bare metal aircraft.  Carefully ruling the painted surface with a grey paint pen can simulate corrugations.

In the photos the P-51 is covered with silver Esaki and the Cessna 150 fuselage is painted.  Another problem with the metallic silver tissue is that it is difficult to paint on it with acrylics or other water based paints.  All the markings on the P-51 are tissue glued on with glue stick except for the control surface outlines which are @#$!% ChartPak tape.

Great to see you posting!  Silver tissue is very tricky to apply.  It comes with time and trying. Did you apply it wet or dry?  I usually apply it wet (misted with a spray bottle, not dripping wet).  Keep up the good work!
