She looks great.  Glad to hear you made a good maiden flight.  Best of luck with tweaking that engine to get her to run consistantly.

In my experience, I had some engines that ran well easily tuned and others were just challenging everytime I took them out to fly.  Embarrassed Roll Eyes Wink

I am having some problems with my eye dropper tank. The fuel I have has 20% Castor oil, it does not want to pull on it hard enough. Undecided I do have an alternative, using a regular fuel tank filled with plastic beads. That would limit the amount of fuel it would hold. It did get to run a little on an over rich mixture. The model climbed out in a wide right hand turn. The glide was pretty straight and super long. I just need to get the engine to run more consistently. Tongue

The fuel tank has a hole in the bottom of it. The fuel line from the backing plate runs though the hole in the bottom of the tank. So the eye dropper becomes the fuel tank. I can also use what some people call a postage stamp backing plate, with different mounting holes. The main problem I have found with an eye dropper tank is, I have found that the engine tends to run too rich when the fuel level is above the level of the reed valve.

Nice...how's the glass funnel attached to the cowl/engine?

I need a couple of coats of dope on the wing, and that's about it.

Thanks. I tried it once, I need to try again. That is a beautiful rich color.  You did much better than I did with it.

I got that tissue from EasyBuilt. It's Mt Fuji Japanese tissue. It's their replacement for Esaki. That's the color, it's not chalked or painted. It's a little heavier than Esaki, but also has a good grain pattern and wet strength. Wink

How did you get such a deep rich shade of red? Did you chalk?
That red looks like you painted it.

It's been going slow. I do all my doping in a sunroom that's the same temperature as the great outdoors. Dope dries slow when it's cold Tongue. I also made a modified mounting plate to mount engines with the tank. That gives me a wider range of options.

Bones look great.  You might need a DT on that one or she might fly away!!!  Good work!

Here's another one of my frame ups. Going to use an .020 Pee Wee with a non-tank backing plate. So far, it's looking pretty good Smiley.
