Sell the kit on Ebay and take the money from the sale and buy more good balsa and build more plans!!!  But as my father used to say, "Take my advice and do as you please!"

There are a lot of popular old models on Outerzone.uk. Most of the Comet models are there. I like to build kits if they are not to pricey. It's sort of a walk down memory lane. A department store where I grew up had a whole row of nothing but balsa model kits. That and Cox engines, bell cranks, control horns, and those balloon type Dubro tires. Grin Your right scratch building is cheaper. And you have the bonus of choosing your own wood. Undecided Its up to you.

Build it or sell it?

Ok, I have a small problem.
I have a kit of the comet helicopter. Printwood and all.
Outerzone has the plans and copies of the printwood for free and it makes no real difference if I cut out the printwood or glue printed sheets of paper to balsa and cut that out. Parts are parts as far as a scroll saw cares and weight of wood, grain direction, ect has no bearing in this case.  Either way it's always a good day when a scroll saw and a cold beverage are involved.
Here's the problem. Both sides of it.

Should I just build the kit or save the kit and build from what OZ has?
Also, does Outer Zone and HPA make collecting a moot point?

If it was a  a comman kit I would just build it.  I'm not a collector. [hoarder maybe, lol]
The box isnt perfect and the tissue is missing, but still, it's the helicopter. BY the way, it wont fly despite what it says on the box. There's no way to power the blades, ect, as I recall.

I guess this goes for the rest of them and the question still remains, even with the comman stuff. Should I buy a kit online or save the money and build from Outerzone and HPA? Also from the other plans sites including Toms, Paul Bradley, Frog, ect.  Not to leave them out. Its been awhile since I've seen a kit for sale that isn't already on outer zone or some other site.
Other than laser cut stuff, is there any reason to haunt ebay anymore?  It just occurred to me that maybe alot of folks don't have a printer shop in their town. That would be an issue to consider.  Printing has gotten real cheap around Springfield Mo. Thanks to the new machines.  Maybe not an easy option for everybody?
