Here's a fairly new product designed for kids modeling like Play Dough but this is a much lighter compound that can be model into pilots, and many fiddly bits like venturies, cowl bumps, machine guns etc.  It air dries and will take paint. Can be found at Wally World, Amazon, and many other sites.
