No offense taken...the great expense is why I left RC and returned to my roots.  You can build many planes from plans for the cost of RC components. As one of my RC buddies said, "There are those who have crashed and those who are gonna crash!"

Just check out the RC crash videos on YouTube!! It becomes easy to put a plane in the ground but also destroy servos, receiver, batteries etc.

Thank you!  I will check it out.

This seems like something that would be great for spending a lot of effort and money in order to achieve severe disappointment!

Not really the planes can be built from free plans found on the internet...Jetex.org and our site when we get the bugs out at FreeFlightArchive.

Mike Stuart's site give lots of suggestions in building your first jet model! Link above!

Most don't have a span over 8-10" so we're not talking hugh models.  $27+shipping for the 8pack L2 motors would be your most expensive part.  In my RC days that could be spent on a spinner, servo, battery etc.  So I don't see the expensive experience!

Is it really a "severe disappointment" when you get to throw a plane in the air no matter how short the flight (crash, dive, spin etc.) just another challenge to conquer!

Because these motors have not been available in the U.S. for a long time it's hard to find info.  Mike Stuart's site ffscale has some info.  The folks in the U.K. have been flying them for a long time.  Mike's site: Click Here

I remember Chris Starleaf built a B-47 on SFA site when it was still working but that is long gone.  YouTube has lots of the UK videos of rapier models in flight. Found his build on HPA also: Click Here

Jetex.org was the Jetex and Rapier site with lots of the original models available there. You might find help there: Click Here

Hippocketaeronautics has a thread on EDF, Rapier, Jetex model.  Recents ones are mostly EDF. Click Here

Hummingbird products is selling the TSP rocket motors in the US.

I would love to do one of these but don't know where to start.  Any guidance?
