Clever work on the tail fin. That's the best way to reduce weight, better than holes alone.
On those Guillows kits, I found the side keels don't need to be that wide after the stringers are on. Sometimes you can thin them in spots after the fact and save some god weight there. Sometimes....
Thanks for the bones.
I wish you the best of luck. Do you know your wing incidence angles?

A few more pictures. To be honest I don't know how successful It will be. I did build this particular model back about 18 years ago. On that one I did no weight reduction. I did get it to fly out a little ways.  Roll Eyes

Looks great! Really looking forward to following your build. I love WWi era stuff and have a Nieuport and Eindecker waiting to be built. I need to get some more experience before I attempt those kits.  Shocked

I'm not messed up about who made the kit.  I like them all. Guillows seem to be pretty robust.
I do LOVE to see those bones and Bi-Planes have alot of bones. Your work looks great!!

I cant offer help on the tail. The old kits had such hard heavy wood, I used to just sand as thin as I could or replace the wood with lite stuff. Laser kits seem to already be made of good lite wood.

Every build is a build. We don't usually get to see much of it when it comes to Guillows. I like the fuselage, especially the jig. The weight reduction is quite helpful if you want it to fly. Back in the day, I used to take these things and hand an .049 on the front to fly as U-Control. And they held up pretty good.

How to pronounce? See: https://www.howtopronounce.com/french/nieuport

Originally, I wasn't going to post pictures of this. It's just another Guillows kit. My main goal is to cut as much weight as I dare from the tail area. By the way how do you pronounce Nieuport? Tongue
