I lied. I can't possibly wait until the snow clears so I gave her a few tosses this evening in snow.

For an 8ish gram plane, it seems like it wants a lot of motor for it to climb. Lot's of variables to sort out and experimenting - too much for a short late winter evening. This being said, it did turn a few good floaty circles and was pretty to watch!  Smiley

I really love WWI birds and I have a couple in kit form waiting to be built, like for example the Dumas Eindecker, but I'm not really ready to tackle those builds yet.

I recently built a version of a stick fuse indoor flyer called the Blatter 40. I built one years ago and loved it. You can find the plan for it on Paul and Ralph Bradley's amazing website.

Anyway, I took some of the construction ideas from the Blatter 40 build and came up with a Fokker-like stick fuse model - the Ein-Schtikker, as I like to call it. No plans really exist for this model. I used pretty much the same stick fuse design from the Blatter 40 and just laid out the stab and wings on graph paper. The fin is made from thin styro plate material.

Fun build. Learned to do a few more things, like getting better with printing on tissue, making a home brew prop and how important paying attention to wood grade can be. After spritzing the wings with Krylon clear, my dihedral increased by a 1/2" on each wing-tip  Wink I happy to report, even with the potato-chipped wings, she glides very nicely but I won't be able to apply power until the snow clears and we get a dry still evening. For now, she keeps me company in my make-shift office  Smiley
