I was right Monique...It looks great in the markings!!!!  Absolutely Awesome! Smiley  Looking forward to videos of her on the slopes.

I saw how big this Buccaneer is, how you going to launch her?

Monica...great to see the progress.  Thanks for sharing.  I love the Buccaneer, all those great lines.  Look forward to seeing this one in the air.  Keep us posted.  I see what you mean by panel lines...I was looking for scale panel lines, but now I see you were talking of the foam sheet joints.  They're not that noticeable.  I think she'll look great with the markings and added details.

I've been busy on the Bucc...

Finally got the nose and tail carved, filled and glassed.

Then once that was PolyC'd a few times, primer (I'd gotten impatient earlier and primed the fus already by then).

I went over the flying and control surfaces and filled in a few dings that remained.

I started with painting today too. I went to the local B&Q and bought tester pots which I've brushed on. The blue is done and  the grey topside is drying at the moment.

And here's the fus fully primes awaiting final filler before painting!

So far, there has been a 30% increase in weight, so it looks like this thing'll finish up at about 4lbs

Once primed, the panelling errors came to light. There is a bit of 'oil canning' in a few places, but I'm not too bothered. The next model I'll try using planking instead to get a smoother flow of the fus contours.

Monique,

Hope you have a cliff to launch this monster from!  As always, I'm astounded at your craftsmanship....just outstanding.  I thought Bill Parker was the giant plane builder on this site, but you're giving him a real run for his money.

I love the lines of the Buccaneer and can't wait to see how this one comes out when completed.  Looks like you've been following some of the guys on RCGroup's EDF site.

Depron is really a nice looking material for your construction.  The forming of the airfoil and fuselage structure is amazing.

Well done and hope your move goes smoothly for you.  Best of luck in the coming New Year!

I started this a while ago, it's just waiting to be glassed and painted now, but I need to move house first in a few weeks. Hopefully the last time for the next few years, so I can start building properly Smiley

This will be for 3 channel RC as a slope glider. Built from Depron.

Length will be 94" and wingspan 64"
