Absolutely beautiful and well done. Gotta know how you were able to handle those tissue stripes especially at the fragile ends, mine always fell apart. Again, a beautiful build.

This plane is getting close to being finished.

I added the heat shielding and exhaust pipes under the cheek cowls, the wheels and the decals.  I'm thinking I'm going to redo the front intakes, I'm not happy with the size or placement (I'm trying to not have to carve a real opening, the nose block is very thin after shaping and sanding).
I also placed the Phantom name decal on the fuselage side instead of the nose. The decal material didn't work well or look good with the Red and curves.  I'm not sure if I like it or not.

Items left to complete
1. Attach and trim canopy
2. Attach spinner
3. Attach upper wing and struts

Flames!!!  I was a little worried about cutting and applying the flames onto the fuselage, but it worked out fine.  One large piece and then two smaller pieces for each side.

I also printed out my decal sheet at work Friday  Smiley

Bob:  I'm checking with the plan owner and will let you know.

Here's a shot of one of my canopies.

I managed to get some build time in over the long weekend  Smiley

The plane is now completely covered.  I shrunk the tissue with an EZ Dope mixture at about 15:1 water to dope.  It shrunk up nicely.  For the first time I pinned the upper wing down to dry to prevent warping - and it worked great!!  Nice and straight.  Everything now has three coats of the same 15:1 mixture.

I also vacuum formed a couple of canopies.  I'm going to try to do a very light tinting on one of them using a black poly dye.

I have dug up some nice red Isaki tissue scrapes which I'm going to try to do the 'flame' fuselage marking with.

And finally, I carved two chin scoops.  I'm not sure which one I'll use.  I'll finish both then decide.

Brad - Thank you for the holiday wish. As an American living in Canada it is especially meaningful, however, living in a border town, I get two Thanksgivings and my wife gets two Black Fridays. Thanks again for the holiday wish.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone - even if you aren't American - we all have things to be thankful for.  I'm thankful for having found this community of fellow model builders to share and learn with.  I don't meet many during my day  Smiley

Here are a couple of photos of the lower, rear fuselage covering progress.

Inch by inch, step by step, I'm covering the fuselage.  Ha.

I think I have used 17 pieces of tissue so far  Smiley

Each time I successfully custom cut and attach a piece of tissue I'm relieved and then I think, "can I do it again on the other side??"

Thank you for the kind words  Smiley

I'm now working on covering the fuselage.  As the photos show, I'm having to go in fairly small sections.  I'm working from the back forward so my seams won't catch air and peel away at high speeds!!  Ha.  And top to bottom, so my final piece which has to be cut perfectly is on the bottom.

I'm using glue stick and applying a light mist of water to the tissue before putting on the frame.
