That's a hoot, John!  Brings back lots of fun memories.  The boy's learning the ropes (lines) of CL flying...cultivating the touch...avoid the urge to over-control.    Man that looks like fun!

A friend in our local club asked if I had a trainer plane that his grandson, Dylan, could try to fly control line.  I was happy to get to help the young man get into the air.  He wasn't as successful as he wanted to be, but no one is born knowing how to fly these planes.  At least he tried, and is wanting to try again. He paid attention to what I told him about how it is done, and seemed to understand what he needed to do.  I'm sure he'll get it just fine.  Dylan is a Boy Scout, and is interested in learning all that he can about model aviation.  To top it off, he can earn a badge from scouting about it.  After meeting and talking to him, I'm confident that he'll do quite well.


Also, kudos to granddad, JB Sims, for bringing Dylan out to the field.  The more young people that come out, the better I like it!  We all need their interest if our hobby is to thrive.
