"Simpleflyer" flight shots. She looks really cool in flight. The size of it is really fun. To be honest, she is not quite the "floater" I thought she would be. After I take some close ups, and finish the plans, I might make a wing with twice the cord and an airfoil.

Almost there, couple more little things, and then flight pictures. Oh yeah, couple key construction pictures, and finish the plans. As far as the paper clip, I just used CA on it to save time. The reason I used the paper clip idea on this design, is because the wing can move front or back in the slot in the middle of the fuselage. Allowing me to fine tune the CG. I still like the clear plastic plate idea I have used for example on the Space Shuttle, because it allows to fine tune the model without access to the nose weight anymore. 4 cents in my pocket, old nut as nose weight. Yes, I did sneak in a test flight already. She fly's, and the size of it is really cool looking in the sky. Did I get the flight characteristics I was hoping for, no. More to come.

Looks great.  How are you attaching the paperclip?  Is that CYA or some Epoxie?  This is really coming together nicely.  Well Done! Smiley

I am also interested in your paperclip attachment. It looks like an end to a problem that you've figured out.

Made a little more progress. Used the UHU glue stick to apply the tissue. I have done this before and liked it. Used 50/50 water and alcohol mix for the first time to shrink the tissue. I really liked this idea. And for the first, I sprayed the tissue with 2 light coats of Krylon satin rattle can. Shrank the tissue nicely, and I like the flat look. But I noticed, if you get the tissue wet, the tissue still gets soggy and soft. I need to sand the wood, and I guess I will put on more coats/weight. Got to stick with what I am good at. Tried a new attach point idea,(paperclip). And I have the guide blocks that go on the wing and empanage yet to install. 4 cents of nose weight seems to be working so far. I'm going to take those pennies out and replace with some old nuts. I'm too tight to kiss that 4 cents goodby.

Made a little more progress. No airfoil on this one, slab construction. Decided to keep it simple as possible to get started.

Looks like you're moving right along.  Is there any airfoil in that wing?  Just curious.

Finally got over my doubts on a "standard" tether flyer, construction has begun.
